Do social networkers have a right to privacy? More and more users of Facebook and Twitter are finding that prospective employers are perusing their sites, despite the fact that they may conceive of their online presence as personal space.
Also, what is a private person’s right to control the images and information about them available on line?

A private person has the right to control everything on his/her social media site, although personal space isn’t real online, most people think it is yes you, get to pick and control the things you put online but honestly speaking no matter what we do, privacy is never complete enough to become privacy, once its online, one or more people will see it. Of course people have a right to privacy but the concept of privacy does not exist online, no matter how much we wish it true.

I think social networkers have a right to their own privacy but the problem is sometimes it is out of control. Once images and information are up, people can see it, they can even screen capture the image of those information and spread it out to the public. So, let’s facing the true, there is no completely privacy online. Keep a true and professional image n line can keep you out of trouble.

sure, everyone should have their own privacy right. As a internet company, they should have responsibility and ethical concept to protect user’s privacy issue. When they build the operating system, they should use coding tech and logical to limit employee’s right that can prevent user’s information leakage. We should have right to control our privacy information, such as ID number use, bank information, resume information, address and phone number.
Privacy information are always for better services, at the sometime, it should be protected by the internet company.

As a social media site, they are responsible of their own privacy and ours as well. But as you all know, once your staff is online, you pretty much lost your right to keep things in private, it will there forever and people who have some access to it, may use it for a professional research or some kind of data. You think you are being private, but at the time you hit that enter button to upload your information on the internet, some part of your privacy that you have agreed on is not private anymore. But you can prevent yourself getting into a bigger problem, just keep in a mind before you upload things, try to keep things in professional manners, and also have fun with it.

I think It is very important for users to have a right to privacy in social networks.The facts tell us that the majority of social media users post risky information online, without giving due diligence to privacy and security concerns. At the same time, cyber criminals are targeting social network sites with increasing amounts of malware and online scams, honing in on this growing user base.While social networks like Facebook and Twitter may be too ingrained in our daily lives to give up, we need to understand the risks and take steps to change the way we interact on the Web. After all, our privacy and security on these sites, in terms of how much we share with others and what we consume, is ultimately up to each of us.

In my opinion , i think i can control my images and i have right to adjust the settings for specific peoples. i have right to show my privacy information only to my friends, but if my employer wanted to see my Facebook, i can also adjust setting. However, i have to be careful about what i share on social media because people who want to give me an opportunity needs to see positive things about me.

I think the user has a right to privacy but at the same time if a employer wants to look at your site to know more about you and what you post on your site then they have the right if you put information on the internet then its public domain you put it out there so dont feel surprised when somebody looks at it.

My viewpoint is employers or users are need their privacy sometimes. Because everybody want to share or argue about something, I think personal space become a right way to come true. In another word, if company in order to protect their reputation and ask for every employers to perusing their sites is too selfishness and unfair. However, for companies, they will lose most of employers. Of course, users also could set to limit someone to visit their space or some secrets or articles shared by password when your company command you have to open.

Once you post something online, you have NO reasonable expectation of privacy, particularly when you’re speaking on social media posts. Any pictures and opinions shared can be screenshot and sent anywhere else. When you post a photo or anything on social media, it should be something you don’t min people using or sharing, because you’re giving everyone access to it. Complaining that someone obtained and used information that YOU posted is like leaving a plate of cookies in the middle of the sidewalk unattended, and complaining when people take them.

I believe that social media networkers do need to have privacy when it comes to their personal social media page. The reason I think this is because we need to have a separated life outside of work, and social media help them do that. It lets them share things with friends and family. however i do believe that we need to be careful with what we put since people could misinterpret it, and as a result ruin our careers. we should still have privacy, but its best to put our social media pages on private.

I am answering this question from two perspectives, one from a personal stand point and the other from an Human Resources side. On personal level, I should have the right to privacy and be able to utilize social media in my personal life as I choose. As an adult I should be able to record my social life and daily life as I please. I should be able to establish my social media persona as I see fit.
As a Human Resources specialist, I am able to look into any potential candidates for a position. I think from an HR perspective, people should have the right to privacy on social media but should be accountable for any information that is placed out there. One example, although extreme, but a great one. A young lady was accused of a hate crime by beating a gay man. She claims innocence and said that she is not against gay people. In court, her twitter posts and facebook posts displayed disparaging comments against the gay community and people. She was found guilty. I know it’s extreme but if you apply for a job to help women in domestic violence situations and you actively post about beating women. You should not get the job.
In conclusion, yes we have a right to privacy but we should also be aware of what we put out there.

I,personally opine that its a vital issue for users to have a right to privacy in social networks.On the other hand if your employer want to see your site about your details for the professional purpose they have right so make sure how much you upload or sharing about yourself so that its not getting any negative impact when it’ll be online. its both of us responsibility to protect our potential and valued information from hackers,so that we can diminish our constraint in the long run.

Everyone has a right to privacy on social networking sites. I don’t think that an employer has a right to look at someone’s social media page and determine their personality. However, a person must realize that everything is not 100% safe on the internet. That is why you have to be very vigilant in what you put on there. Remember what the word “social” means.

However I also believe that when a person want s to be considered for a position in a company they should also consider the kind of image they portray on their social media pages. Yes. all users have the right to privacy because it is their account with their own personal preferences but at the same time this becomes slightly null because they’re putting their information on a public server the point being that never the less it is public so the best way to mediate the situation you shall either not have a account or regulate the information you put up.
