YouTube started as a place to store videos but quickly morphed into a social networking site when purchased by Google in 2006. The site’s new value proposition at the time (Broadcast Yourself) reflected this sociality. Is it still primarily a social networking site? Why or why not? Can you find “Broadcast Yourself” on the site anymore? What is YouTube for now? If the visitors to the site were broadcasters in the past what are they today?

Yes, it still is a primary networking site because most people who have videos on there you can communicate and chat with. Let’s say a person has a page that has a lot of fashion tips and you want more information, You can leave a comment and this gives the owner of that page a chance to reply. Yes you can broadcast yourself. YouTube is great in many ways if you have any big impact on people you can get to a level where you can get paid.

Yes, YouTube is still a social networking site because it allows you to post videos of you or other things and you or others can comment. When I go to the home page of YouTube there isn’t anything that actually says ” Broadcast Yourself,” it seems as though the term is now more of an implied statement. As of today, YouTube is used for a variety of things. Some of those things are to post videos of yourself or things you want to promote about yourself, posting videos of other people, posting funny or inspirational videos or even to listen to very old or up to date music.

Yes. It is still primarily a social networking site. The primary function for YouTube is to share videos. We can watch video there or post our own video. People can make common and conversation down in the common board. People can subscribe, fellow each other and become friends. For business use, company can post product video on YouTube. There is no “Broadcast Yourself” on the site anymore, only videos. There is a new function. Live video on YouTube. Maybe those broadcasters can still use this platform to promote.

YouTube still is a social networking site, in the beginning, YouTube is more like a storage space for personal video. But today we can find that this website is more involving commercial and clear business purpose, people are not just purely for fun and record. That is a development of demand, people understand how can use YouTube to spread their information. People make video for some reason with value, our time become more and more expensive. With smartphone development, life recording should base on convenience and a suitable social environment such as Facebook or Snap-chat, YouTube is no longer for personal fun thing, it is a right place for business activity.

There a number of people who have become worldwide celebrities from the use of YouTube as a social networking too. One of the key factors that make YouTube such a hugely effective social networking tool is the fact it is free promotion to the world. I don’t personally consider YouTube a social networking site anymore. While a people may still communicate via videos and comments, and a person’s channel can somewhat identify their likes and dislikes, YouTube has become more of a source of entertainment. I don’t believe most of the people that use YouTube or have accounts use it to brand themselves. I think they simply use it as a way to view interesting or informative videos uploaded by others who do see it as a social networking site.

Yes, it is still primarily a social networking site. when you use Facebook, Twitter and linked-in some other social media tools, you can share web sites to public, which is save time and space to show information. Although I cannot find ‘BROADCAST YOURSELF’ again, it has changed another way to show. YouTube is concentrating on all videos, life, studying, foods, playing and so o. Of course, everyone could log on if you have account number, you can share video in your personal space.

Yes YouTube is still considered a social networking site. it is known as a social networking site because you can post your videos and share to all of your followers. it has changed over the years i mainly go on the website to look at sports highlights battles boxing matches and things of that nature. it also has ads on it now and it promotes just about everything and sometimes that takes away from the task at hand which is to upload your videos and connect with your followers.

I personally use You tube a lot and i don’t see it as a broadcasting site anymore. I see it as a social website where you can browse through music videos and reply with comments and likes or dislikes option. The broadcasters in the past i believe some might have helped their music career or anything they might have broadcasted. Also When I go through you tube I don’t see anywhere where it says to “broadcast yourself”.

I’d honestly say YouTube has and always will be a primary source of social media but i don’t see it as a broadcasting site although it is one. Past broadcasters simply stay past broadcasters unless your fans base grows on YouTube but if not, you stay in the past and Most people use YouTube for it primary use which watch funny videos.

I think that Youtube is both a social media page, as well as a site to watch videos. people can use youtube for their business. This way they can show off what they do. However many people use it for entertainment more then a social media page. there is a comment section on all videos that people may use to communicated with each other, and their is messaging.

yes i think that you tube is a social media site. reason being its like Facebook instead of the “follow” button it has a “subscribed” button. i have learned a lot of different Technics from you tube such as applying make up, taking viruses of your computer, learning how to do nail art etc. i think it is a excellent way to connect with different styles of talent.

Yes, YouTube is still one of the primarily networking site. it is getting bigger and bigger, because of the information that you are able to find it and correlate to it. You are able to find all kinds of videos on for example: how to create a photo-shop picture, how to do daily make-up, or how to fly prone and all others. I found Youtube a very very useful tool for self-learning instruction, because I was taking a web design course and it is so hard to learn thing just by a single instruction and needed an extra info and Youtube had a whole bunch of lessons posted by professionals and amateurs on my topic and i was able to follow it without any problem. Even though now you can’t see that “Broadcast Yourself” sign, all those video posts are “broadcasting themselves”, and there are people who made millions through Youtube, became a famous and started their of venture. Most of those older VJs are now a big time social media figure and have millions of subscribers and It’s a very clever way to get paid doing what you enjoy the most through social network, and people are taking advantage of it already and they are being smart about it.

Youtube has been used to launch successful careers with artists such as Justin Beiber. It is a launching pad in which people can post videos of their skills and be notice on the largest platform in the world. This site allows people to be introduced on a global scale with something being called viral. When a video goes viral it makes headlines and even can lead to profits.
In fact, there are many videos that go viral that Youtube developed an incentive so that people can make money when a video does go viral. There are algarythms designed with the website that would generate profits for people.

YouTube is most definitely a primary networking site for the fact not only does it give worldwide connectivity and responses to any video at anytime they are steadily advancing their networking capabilities where one can stream live and people can join in to talk or play with them.
